Everyone is telling you how to NOT catch #coronavirus, but NO ONE is saying what to if you get it. Thanks to this nurse in the UK for putting this guide together:

Finally, some sensible advice. From a GP Nurse in the UK.

To Avoid Covid-19
What I have seen a lot of are recommendations for how to try to avoid getting coronavirus in the first place ,
• good hand washing
• personal hygiene
• social distancing
— but what I have NOT seen a lot of is advice for what happens if you actually get it, which many of us will.
So as your friendly neighborhood Nurse let me make some suggestions:

If you get Covid-19
You basically just want to prepare as though you know you’re going to get a nasty respiratory bug, like bronchitis or pneumonia. You just have the foresight to know it might come your way!

Things you should actually buy ahead of time (not sure what the obsession with toilet paper is?):

Kleenex,

Paracetamol,

• whatever your generic, mucus thinning cough medicine of choice is (check the label and make sure you’re not doubling up on Paracetamol)

Honey and lemon can work just as well!

Vicks vaporub for your chest is also a great suggestion.

a humidifier would be a good thing to buy and use in your room when you go to bed overnight. (You can also just turn the shower on hot and sit in the bathroom breathing in the steam).

If you have a history of asthma and you have a prescription inhaler, make sure the one you have isn’t expired and refill it/get a new one if necessary.

Meals This is also a good time to meal prep: make a big batch of your favorite soup to freeze and have on hand.

Hydrate (drink!) hydrate, hydrate! Stock up on whatever your favorite clear fluids are to drink – though tap water is fine you may appreciate some variety!

For symptom management and a fever over 38°c, take Paracetamol rather than Ibuprofen.

Rest lots. You should not be leaving your house! Even if you are feeling better you may will still be infectious for fourteen days and older people and those with existing health conditions should be avoided!

Wear gloves and a mask to avoid contaminating others in your house

Isolate in your bedroom if not living alone, ask friends and family to leave supplies outside to avoid contact.

Sanitize your bed linen and clothes frequently by washing and clean your bathroom with recommended sanitizers.

You DO NOT NEED TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL unless you are having trouble breathing or your fever is very high (over 39°C) and unmanaged with meds.
90% of healthy adult cases thus far have been managed at home with basic rest/hydration/over-the-counter meds.

If you are worried or in distress or feel your symptoms are getting worse

Preexisting risks If you have a pre-existing lung condition (COPD, emphysema, lung cancer) or are on immunosuppressants, now is a great time to talk to your Doctor or specialist about what they would like you to do if you get sick.

Children- One major relief to you parents is that kids do VERY well with coronavirus— they usually bounce back in a few days (but they will still be infectious), Just use pediatric dosing .

Be calm and prepare rationally and everything will be fine.
[4/1, 10:04 PM] Karen Allen: This is to inform us all that the pH for corona virus varies from 5.5 to 8.5.

All we need to do, to beat corona virus, we need to take more of an alkaline foods that are above the above pH level of the Virus.

Some of which are:
Lemon – 9.9pH
Lime – 8.2pH
Avocado – 15.6pH
Garlic – 13.2pH
Mango – 8.7pH
Tangerine – 8.5pH
Pineapple – 12.7pH
Dandelion – 22.7pH
Orange – 9.2pH

How do you know you have coronavirus?

  1. Itching in the throat,
  2. Dry throat,
  3. Dry cough.
  4. High temperature
  5. Shortness of breath

So where you notice these things quickly take warm water with lemon and drink.

Do not keep this information to yourself only. Pass it to all your family and friends. May God bless all.

May I come In please….. sayonara…

Alas ! In BlunderLand

#jump foods…

What a strange world this has become.
And the biggest factor helping us retain our sanity is…..the internet.

News papers in an e format
Netflix amazon etc via the net

Fb votsapp TikTok and whatever on the net

Zoom parties, 4 and 8 chats with friends on votsapp again with the internet.

Video calls and whatever…..

Ordering food from the net

Had there not been internet, what would we have done during lockdowns?

And social distancing is now the new norm even when things are opened up gradually.
Without the vaccine, this covid is not going to vanish. So it has to be a way of life now.
No crowds
No hugs and hand shakes
No live sports with audiences
No crowded bars
No jam packed public transport
Flights can wait
Bars can wait
Theatres can wait
Marriages have to be personal affairs
Hygiene has become paramount

The city must be kept clean
This is a time for the bmc to also start a drive to decongest areas like Dharavi and the rest

Jails and muncipal hospitals need total overhauling
Gutters, waste management needs major scrutiny. And overhauling.

Our approach to living needs a complete change.

Minimum of waste
No needless spends
No needless parties
No needless meetings
Lots of work can happen on FaceTime and online meetings
Hence no need of huge offices

Some businesses will go bust
This is bound to happen

Tourism will take a back seat.
F n B at restaurants will take a hit.
Cinemas are a no no
Films will go straight online if the platform can pay fancy prices

Shootings are scary. A 100 crew size is a risk.
Travel for outdoors is a risk

Everything points to staying at home atleast 80 pc of the time even post lockdown.

Else take the risk and we could have a second and a more lethal wave of the pandemic.

It’s true when people say the lockdown is just a pause button.
It reduces rapid spread agreed but the virus doesn’t go away.
We can minimise the spread for sure.
And until a vaccine is found that’s the only option.

Now let’s start thinking what kinds of work we can do, what businesses we can start from home. And online.

The planet has enjoyed this break the most
The sky the sun the stars the moon
The roads the birds the animals the sea…The air
They all deserved this break more than us.

Humans cause the chaos.
It’s time to introspect
Climate change needs to be discussed at such times, else next we could have other life threatening issues related to climate change

Water preservation is paramount. It’s soon going to be a scarce commodity.

What a world we will leave behind for future generations?
It’s in our hands. Still in our hands.

India needs to do a lot.
Infrastructure, medical upgrading, stations and bus depots, so much to re do, or change rapidly and modernise.
Else they will all become breeding grounds for illnesses.

A salute to the frontline workers. Doctors nurses, related staff, police, and the rest who have worked almost 18/20 hours each day, away from home, to keep us safe.

MUMBAI now needs a CEO to manage it. Not politicians. We need qualified experts taking decisions and that too with no red tape, no delay, no excuses.
We must give one city a try. I’m not saying do away with politicians, but let decisions be taken by a team of management gurus.

Like banning construction for 5 years. We have so much of unsold inventory already.
Town planning needs to be brought back. Designated areas for shops and separate for residences. Proper walkways, cycle tracks, lots of parks and places to just chill and soak in fresh air…. we need space for our physical and mental betterment.

Let’s reduce military expense by 50 pc and spend those thousands and thousands of crores to change muncipal hospitals standards to make them at par with private hospitals. Same with muncipal schools and markets.
It’s about time.

Ab nahin to kab

We don’t want to be in a position where we will have to say….
Life was beautiful once!!!!

What’s your Mother name …. ????? Plz do read the blog. Whatsapp me +919910644029.

#jump foods: Hello: Is your mother getting her essential nutrients? Check here
Not paying attention to one’s health can lead to serious repercussions, therefore mothers need to pay equal attention to their health, especially in the times of Corona.

Many moms are now motivated to stay healthy for themselves to set a good example for their little ones. So if you are a mother working to become healthier, you are setting a great example to your family. Considering the lockdown, embark on a healthy lifestyle with some home exercises, preferably in the morning. Regular physical activity helps build muscle strength, balance and flexibility while also helping manage stress better.
While physical activity is important, the intake of nutritious food is equally necessary for overall well-being. It is recommended that we incorporate “superfoods”, which are considered a nutrient powerhouse providing large quantities of antioxidants, minerals and vitamins for small amounts consumed. These foods contain bioactive compounds that confer immense health benefits.
Here are some important facts to keep in mind that can help boost one’s immunity:
Balance your plate
A balanced plate includes whole grains (whole wheat, unpolished rice, ragi) whole pulses and dals, vegetables, fruits, dairy and fluids. We cannot rely on any single food item for immune boosting. It is always a combination of foods that translate into a mix of required nutrients. The Indian thali, which is a combination of all food groups, is a perfect example of this.
Eat your protein
Protein is an essential building block of the immune system. “Without enough content in the body, your immune system may not function as efficiently as expected. Protein can be obtained from different food items like all dals, whole pulses, egg, meat, milk and its products, nuts, etc. These food items can ensure that the body gets adequate protein,” says Anushka Baindur, Senior Dietician, Fortis Hospital, Bangalore. Non-vegetarian foods naturally have complete protein in them. But even vegetarians can get complete proteins by combining cereals and pulses like rice and dal.
Get your micros
Micronutrients include vitamins and essential minerals. They play a major role in keeping the immune system in top shape. “Vitamins ranging from A to E and minerals like zinc, iron, magnesium, selenium etc, all play an important key role. So, ensure to pile up your plate with a good amount and variety of vegetables. One can also consume fruit, nuts and seeds, eggs as a regular snack which will help to fill the gaps between meals,” explains Baindur. You should also get 20-40 minutes of sunlight exposure regularly which will enable your body to produce Vitamin D (without breaking the current lockdown rules).
Strengthen your gut
Your gut forms a barrier for unwanted guests that can invade your body. For this, a good amount of fibre and probiotics is important. Fibre is present in vegetables like green leafy vegetables, fruits, whole cereals that include wheat, brown rice, ragi, bajra, whole pulses and lentils like green moong, whole masoor, horse gram, channa, rajma. Probiotics are foods that contain live good bacteria which can help keep the bad ones at bay. One can also consume natural probiotics that are homemade, like curd, buttermilk or even organic honey.
Superfood – Virgin Coconut Oil
Cold Pressed Virgin Coconut Oil (VCNO) is recommended for its myriad health benefits. It is obtained from the fresh and matured kernel of the coconut by mechanical or natural means, cold-pressed and non-refined. “It is a rich source of naturally occurring Lauric acid and contains Vitamin E which helps to improve body immunity along with many other health benefits. Several studies show a positive association between virgin coconut oil consumption and how it helps in supporting people affected with Alzheimer’s. It also benefits breastfeeding mothers as the MCTs found in the oil are similar to the fats found in breast milk and have a similar nutraceutical effect. It is recommended to include two teaspoons of virgin coconut oil in the diet every day to maintain a healthy and holistic lifestyle,” explains nutritionist Sheryl Salis.
The importance of folate or Vitamin B9 in women
Vitamin B9, also known as folic acid, is another nutrient many women don’t get enough of in their diets. Folate lowers the risk of heart diseases and certain types of cancer. It is also an essential nutrient for women of child-bearing age to reduce the chance of neurological birth defects. Mint, spinach, Bengal gram, black gram, green gram, red gram, gingelly seeds, soya bean are good sources of folate.
As you celebrate Mother’s Day during lockdown, focus on personal health as a mother’s health ultimately impacts her family’s well-being.

#jump foods Dear All

Want to share with you what our club members are doing now

There are certain colonies which have lower middle class income groups who have refused free ration because they feel ashamed

So what we did was distributed pamphlets
Special Offer
Vegetables 3 types
Combined
@Rs 15 per kg
With Masala Free

Atta rice combined
@ rs 15 Per 2 kg

No free distribution
And no photos will be taken

Time was 7am to 9am
For 3 days
In one colony
And the shifted to another colony

Believe it or not ladies came with tears in eyes but with their self respect intact

What the members did was gave them the packets along with a gift of bananas and in that packet retuned their amount without the knowledge of the ladies.

No photos were taken no banner was put. All done in a very dignified way while keeping social distancing.

What we learned was serving the needy while keeping their honor intact is also very important .

Thought that I would share it with all of you.

This time the gigantic animal is invisible but still there.

We seriously need to hand over our govts hospitals to bigger players to manage.
Yes there shud be complete reservation and same rates for poor.
But by allowing private players to develop the hospitals and increase capacity to cover their costs, atleast the overall standard will improve. It’s been 70 plus years
Enough.
If we look at those hospitals we will fall sick!! Leaking and broken toilets, no hygiene whatsoever.
We are a country of 130 Cr etc etc all fine, but now on no excuses

Let’s revamp the entire health condition. Where is our Heath minister. Can he speak why bodies lie next to living covid patients. Are we equipped trained and ready at muncipal hospitals to handle this situation?

Where is our housing minister. Clusters like Dharavi Nehru Nagar etc must go!!! Ok these are decades old but u r in power now. Do something. Mumbai will burst in this pandemic and it’s because of this unplanned city.
No sense complaining. Do something and do it before we have another pandemic or be ready to be wiped out.

Can pyramids save us from virus .. Research should be made ..

Dear Friends, *🙏~SCARY BUT TRUE~🙏* Now that lockdown is easing out, there is a greater chance of virus infection, especially from asymptomatic cases. *One has to be positive but being a Soldier, ready for the Worst* Please do not waste time on what Modi(P.M.) or state govt. is doing / not doing. *Start thinking about your own family.* *In case any one of us gets infected by coronavirus. Then What?* Ever thought of that? *Before going for test, put all your valuables in the locker or in safe hidden place. Whole house will be fumigated and sealed.* Your wife, children and parents too will be taken to Isolation ward. You may not ever meet some or all of them again. They or we may die. Situation is still tougher if you are only husband wife living with kids abroad/ away. *Case 1 : Only you get admitted to COVID isolation ward.*

1) What to take with you? Lets make a list.

  • Mobile, Charger, earphones, Routine medicines, Change of clothes for 14 days!

2) Will you need cash? Card? Make provision.

3) Mediclaim Insurance policy – Keep handy.
Govt. has included Covid – 19 in insurance for all.

4) How will the home run without you? Keep provisions. Sign few blank cheques as well. Share your ATM Pin with your wife / family senior.

5) Do you have a pet?
Arrange for its shelter with some PETA or friends in case your wife too has to be admitted. *Case 2 :- You die due to covid-19 in Isolation centre. Your wife is alone now. Your body also is not handed to your kins and cremated/ burried directly. Your relatives do not meet your wife to console her for the fear of infection.*

  1. Make her aware Today, of all the current financial conditions. Leave enough cash home.
  2. Your children are away out of India and cannot come to their mother nor can they take her to them. This situation remains for next 6 months. Be prepared ! *Passwords*:- Share All your passwords, Keypad lock pattern or code everything in a note for them in case you die. You will have a lots available if you do not die. Mental strength building now is very very essential. Request put your thoughts here. *Case 3 :- Both of you die! ! Say for 3 months nobody is allowed to visit your house. After that your children are able to return. What will they do? Finances- Again Keep some signed blank cheques for them. They can at least transfer the money to their A/C if they return before 3 months.*

Nomination is the best practice but if not done then may not have time to do it now. *Documents*- Make a list of Important Documents, Bank accounts, Bank Locker and their key location, Location of various keys- Cupboard keys, Car keys, in your home (people have a tendency to keep them in फालतू secret place) House keys should be given to any relative or friend for keeps safe. We do take such precautions normally when we fly out. But we never imagine a situation where one may have to face things alone and without any help! Please give a thought to above and suggest if u have any more suggestions !! If agreed with my above suggestions then forward it to your relatives & friends..!!

All of you must read it
It is very very important

Bhagwan kare kisi ko kuch na ho
Lekin precautions lena accha rahega

Life has become Teabag.. dip dip dip

Tea bags like life dip dip dip

One person every 44 seconds died in USA due to Corona in April 2020.
As claimed by CNN last night.
Shocking!!!
And death for no fault of theirs!!!

And yet they are in a hurry to open up the country. Thats very dangerous. And over and above the fact that deaths are continuing to happen, states are in a hurry to open up.
I salute India’s resolve and that means the people’s resolve. It’s not easy staying indoors for so long. No one is used to it. This happens perhaps once in a 100 years.
Life above commerce!!!!

Well done Modiji and well supported by Indians!!!

Guys, hang in for another two weeks atleast. If certain red hot zones continue to exist, they may need more time to recover. Hoga to hoga. Show the same strength. Let’s not make it like some of our cricket tournaments where we made it to the finals….but lost there!!!
We must we will win this one!!!

One of the great challenges of this pandemic has been determining how to provide remote learning opportunities and stay true to our Montessori values. A group of us from the Montessori Collaborative Teacher Support Task Group have been exploring this topic and the result is the following pedagogical guidelines. The first page provides general Montessori pedagogical guidelines that apply to all levels followed by additional considerations for each level, Infant-Toddler through Secondary.

Our hope is that teachers and school leaders will discuss these guidelines and reflect on what they have or have not been doing to support children and families during this time. It may also be useful as your craft information to parents. We are attaching as a word doc so you can feel free to add to it or adapt it for your school’s needs.

We honor each of you for your great efforts and commitment to serving children and families. We are all doing the best we can to figure this out and get through it… and we will get through it together in the spirit of love and service.
