Fused Bulb Concept

A senior executive retired and shifted from his palatial official quarters to the housing society, where he owned a flat. He considered himself big and never talked to anyone. Even while walking in the society park every evening, he ignored others, looking at them with contempt.

One day, it somehow transpired that an elderly person sitting beside him started a conversation, and they continued to meet. Every conversation was mostly a monologue with the retired executive harping on his pet topic, “Nobody can imagine the big post and high position I held before retirement; I came here due to compulsions”; and so on, and the other elderly person used to listen to him quietly.

After many days, when the retired executive was inquisitive about others, the elderly listener opened his mouth and said, “After retirement, we are all like fused bulbs. It does not matter what a bulb’s wattage was, how much light or glitter it gave, after it gets fused.”

He continued, “I have been living in this society for the last 5 years and have not told anyone that I was a Member of the Parliament for two terms. On your right, over there is Vermaji, who retired as General Manager in Indian Railways. Over there is Singh Saheb, who was a Major General in the Army. That person sitting on the bench in spotless white dress is Mehraji, who was the chief of ISRO before retirement. He hasn’t revealed it to anyone, not even to me, but I know.”

“All fused bulbs are now the same – whatever its wattage was – 0, 10, 40, 60, 100 watts – it doesn’t matter now. Neither does it matter what type of bulb it was before it got fused – LED, CFL, Halogen, Incandescent, fluorescent, or decorative. And that, my friend, applies to you too. The day you understand this, you will find peace and tranquillity even in this housing society.”

“The rising sun as well as the setting sun are both beautiful and adorable. But, in reality, the rising sun gets more importance and adoration, and is even worshipped , whereas the setting sun is not given the same reverence. It is better to understand this sooner than later”.

Our current designation, title and power are not permanent. Keeping lot of emotions with these things only complicate our life when we lose this one day.

Be humble..be nice. Throw away your ego. After all people will remember you and not your designation. People do not make friends with Retd IAS, OAS, but how good a person you are.

Remember that when the game is over, the king and the pawn go back in the same box.!!!

What God forgets Doctors Give

Britishers looted our precious knowledge acquired over thousands of years.
“The Third Mysore war took place between Tipu Sultan and Britishers. The Mysore soldiers captured a truck which was carrying food for the British army.A simple Marathi named Kosaji was the one who drove this truck. Tipu Sultan ordered to cut off his nose. Kosaji with his nose cut was released after the end of the war.
A British doctor came forward to treat him. But Kosaji did not allow that doctor to treat him and said to take him to a traditional physician named Kumar. The Britishers scolded him for choosing the local remedy instead of modern medicine.
He said, “Dr. Kumar will fix my cut nose again.” Everyone started laughing. But they agreed to his request and took him to Kumar. The local physician, Kumar, was doing a brick kiln business.

He peeled some skin from Kosaji’s forehead and stitched it with the nose. The nose grew back. The skin from the forehead also grew back.
The British doctor, who saw this miracle, drew a painting of the miraculous incident and sent it to Britain. On seeing the message,Joseph
Constantine Carpue , an English doctor, came from London and met Dr. Kumar. He stayed for several years and returned back after learning this therapy.
He went to London and performed the world’s first plastic surgery in 1816. It was then known as a Carpue operation.

How did Dr. Kumar know plastic surgery?
An ancient Indian physician, named Sushruta, wrote about plastic surgery around 2500 years ago. The book, Sushruta Samhita, still contains the details of the surgery. Though it is called plastic surgery, no plastic was involved in this.surgery.
Those who practiced this surgery for generations were doing simple brick kiln business.
Picture of Kosaji from British museum.
It tells that our ancestors were erudite in every field. Britishers always used our talent. We should feel proud of our culture and whatever we inherited from our ancestors 😇

Sunflowers 🌻🌻🌻🌻 turn according to the position of the sun. In other words, they “chase the light.”

This facing the sun phenomenon is called HELIOTROPISM

You might already know this, but there is another fact that you probably do not know!

Have you ever wondered what happens on cloudy and rainy days when the sun is completely covered by clouds?🤔

This is an interesting question. Isn’t it?

Perhaps you think the sunflower withers or turns its head towards the ground. Is this what crossed your mind?

Well, that’s incorrect!

This is what happens?

They turn towards each other to share their energy.🌻✨🌻

Nature’s perfection is amazing. Now let’s apply this reflection to our lives. Many people may become low-spirited, and the most vulnerable ones, sometimes, become depressed.
How about following the example of the beautiful sunflowers 🌻i.e. “Supporting and empowering each other”. Nature has so much to teach us.

Wishing everyone a “Sunflower”🌻 trait of turning towards each other on the cloudy and gloomy days.

Spread goodness…it will come back to you….

4 Hormones which determine a human’s happiness. Worth reading

As I sat in the park after my morning walk,
My wife came and slumped next to me.
She had completed her 30-minute jog. We chatted for a while. She said she is not happy in life. I looked up at her sheer disbelief since she seemed to have the best of everything in life.
“Why do you think so?”
“I don’t know. Everyone tells I have everything needed, but I am not happy.
“Then I questioned myself, am I happy? “No,” was my inner voice reply.
Now, that was an eye-opener for me.
I began my quest to understand the real cause of my unhappiness,
I couldn’t find one.

I dug deeper, read articles, spoke to life coaches but nothing made sense.
At last my doctor friend gave me the answer which put all my questions and doubts to rest.
I implemented those and will say I am a lot happier person.

She said, there are four hormones which determine a human’s happiness –

  1. Endorphins,
  2. Dopamine,
  3. Serotonin,
    and
  4. Oxytocin.
It is important we understand these hormones,
as we need all four of them to stay happy.

Let’s look at the first hormone the Endorphins.
When we exercise, the body releases Endorphins.
This hormone helps the body cope with the pain of exercising. We then enjoy exercising because these Endorphins will make us happy.
Laughter is another good way of generating Endorphins.
We need to spend 30 minutes exercising every day, read or watch funny stuff to get our day’s dose of Endorphins.

The second hormone is Dopamine.
In our journey of life, we accomplish many little and big tasks, it releases various levels of Dopamine.
When we get appreciated for our work at the office or at home, we feel accomplished and good, that is because it releases Dopamine.
This also explains why most housewives are unhappy since they rarely get acknowledged or appreciated for their work. Once, we join work, we buy a car, a house, the latest gadgets, a new house so forth. In each instance, it releases Dopamine and we become happy.
Now, do we realize why we become happy when we shop?

The third hormone Serotonin is released when we act in a way that benefits others.
When we transcend ourselves and give back to others or to nature or to the society, it releases Serotonin. Even,
providing useful information on the internet like writing information blogs, answering peoples questions on Quora or Facebook groups will generate Serotonin.
That is because we will use our precious time to help other people via our answers or articles.

The final hormone is Oxytocin,
is released when we become close to other human beings.
When we hug our friends or family Oxytocin is released.
The “Jadoo Ki Jhappi” from Munnabhai does really work.
Similarly, when we shake hands or put our arms around someone’s shoulders, various amounts of Oxytocin is released.

So, it is simple, we have to exercise every day to get Endorphins,
we have to accomplish little goals and get Dopamine,
we need to be nice to others to get Serotonin and
finally hug our kids,
friends, and families to get Oxytocin and we will be happy.
When we are happy, we can deal with our challenges and problems better.

Now, we can understand why we need to hug a child who has a bad mood.

So in order to feel more and more happy day by day …

1.Motivate ourselves to play and have some fun
-Endorphins

  1. Appreciate others for any small or big achievements
    -Dopamine
  2. Inculcate sharing habit through you to others
    -Serotonin
  3. Hug your family, friends……
    -Oxytocin

Go To Yell …

An elderly couple had dinner at another couple’s house, and after eating, the wives left the table and went into the kitchen.
The two gentlemen were talking, and one said, ‘Last night we went out to a new restaurant and it was really great… I would recommend it very highly.’
The other man said, ‘What is the name of the restaurant?’
The first man thought and thought and finally said, ‘What is the name of that flower you give to someone you love?
You know…. The one that’s red and has thorns.’
‘Do you mean a rose?’
‘Yes, that’s the one,’ replied the man. He then turned towards the kitchen and yelled, ‘Rose, what’s the name of that restaurant we went to last night?’

Plz read it …

A woman went on vacation, leaving her husband behind. Before she left, she told him to take extra special care of her cat.The next day she called her husband and asked if the cat was all right.
Her husband said: The cat just died.
She burst into tears and said: How could you be so blunt? Why couldn’t you have broken the news gradually! Today, you could have said that it was playing on the roof; tomorrow, you could have said that it fell off and had broken its leg; then on the third day, you could have said that the poor thing had passed away in the night. You could have been more sensitive about the whole thing. By the way, how is my mom?
Husband: She is playing on the roof.

Words can be twisted into any shape. Promises can be made to lull the heart and seduce the soul. In the final analysis, words mean nothing. They are labels we give things in an effort to wrap our puny little brains around their underlying natures, when ninety-nine percent of the time the totality of the reality is an entirely different beast. The wisest person is the silent one. Examine his actions. Judge him by them.

Hare Krishna 😊🙏

First lesson

I got on to the bus. Seeing the crowd inside, I was upset. There was no place to sit. Just then, a person vacated his seat. The man standing next to the vacant seat could have sat there, but instead he offered the seat to me.

At the next stop, the same thing happened again. He gave his seat to another. This happened 4 times during the entire journey. The man looked like a normal worker, returning home after a long day at work…

At the last stop when all of us got off, I spoke to him.

“Why were you giving your seat to another person every time you got a vacant seat?”
His answer took me by surprise.
“I haven’t studied much in my life nor do I know many things. I don’t have much money either. So I don’t have anything much to give to anyone. That’s why I do this everyday. It is something I can do easily.

“After working all day I can stand for a little longer. I gave my seat to you and you said thank you. It gave me satisfaction that I did something for someone.
I do this daily & feel I am contributing in some way.
I go back home refreshed & happy every day that I gave something to someone.”

I was speechless!

Wanting to do something for someone on a daily basis is the ultimate gift.

This stranger taught me a lot –
How easy it is to be rich from within!

Beautiful clothes, lots of money in the bank account, expensive gadgets, accessories & luxuries or even educational degrees – may or may not make you rich and happy; but a small act of giving is enough to make you feel rich & Happy everyday

Once up on a Time

Though the story is about shrikalahasti, i dont think this carving is not in srikalahasti temple. Looks like its in lepakshi or some other place. Howev##er, let me give you some inputs about the story.

This represents ShriKalahasti (Spider, Snake, Elephant) and bhakta kannappa who offered his eye to lord shiva when his one of the eyes was bleeding. So the name of the temple is Shrikalahastishwara temple and the town is named after this..This town is just 45 km from the world famous Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam of Lord Venkateswara swamy. An interesting and hidden secret is, shrikalahasti swamy is one of the oldests diety in the world. Even much older than TTD. Kalahatiswara was worshipped at this place by Brahma during all four Yugas.

The swamy originally was Karpoora Lingam. But on the request of Vayu deva, it has become a Vayu Lingam. Suras, Asuras, Garuda, Gaandharvas, Kinneras, kimpurushas, Siddhas, Saadhvis, humans and others will worship this Lingam”.

There are several other legends connected to the glory of the temple. Prominent among them is of Parvati who was cursed by Shiva to discard her heavenly body and assume the human form. To get rid of the above curse Parvati did a long penance here. Pleased with her deep devotion Shiva again recreated her body – a hundred times better than her previous heavenly body and initiated various mantras including the Panchakshari. Consequent to this, Parvati gained fame and came to be known as Shiva-Gnanam Gnana Prasunamba or Gnana Prasunambika Devi.

This is called Kasi of South. Like in Kasi, Srisailam, this is very good for all the tantras particularly all bhairava tantra.

Ghanakala, Mayura, Chandra and Devendra were also freed from their curses after taking bath in the river Swarnamukhi and praying at Srikalahasti. To Bhakta Markandeya, Shiva appeared in Srikalahasti and preached that a Guru alone could make esoteric teachings and, therefore he is Brahma, Vishnu and Maheswara.

This is the only temple in India which remains open during Solar and lunar eclipses, while, all other temples are closed. This temple is famous for Rahu-Kethu pooja. It is believed that performing this pooja will ward the people from astrological effects of Rahu and Kethu.
